The 12.0.5 Content Update Goes Live April 21
Patch 12.0.5 launches April 21 with a large slate of new outdoor and group content for Midnight.
- Void Assaults — Void Strikes rotate weekly through Eversong Woods and Zul'Aman. Completing enough Strikes triggers larger Void Incursion scenarios requiring many players.
- Ritual Sites — Small 1–5 player instances where you disrupt naga and Twilight's Blade cultists. Tiered difficulty with scaling rewards, and they count toward the Great Vault World row alongside Delves and Prey.
- Voidforge — Help domanaar Decimus build a Voidforge to transmute Nebulous Voidcores (from raids, M+, Delves, and Nightmare Prey) into powerful gear. Unlocking the Ascendant Nilhammer lets you upgrade weapons and trinkets further with Ascendant Voidcores.
- Decor Duels — A hide-and-seek PvP mini-game in Silvermoon City via Group Finder. One team hides as housing decor items, the other seeks. Rewards include a mount, toys, and decor.
- Abyss Anglers — Repeatable underwater fishing event off the coast of Zul'Aman. Spear fish, rack up points, earn dive equipment upgrades and cosmetics.
- Field Accolades — New currency earned from Void Assaults and Ritual Sites, spent on Champion and Heroic quality gear.
On the table
- Ritual Sites going into the Great Vault World row is huge — does that change how you plan your weekly vault lockouts, or are you still prioritizing raids and M+?
- Decor Duels sounds wild — prop hunt in Silvermoon. Is this the kind of casual PvP content WoW has been missing, or is it a one-and-done novelty?

Midnight Hotfixes — April 9
Blizzard pushed a significant round of class tuning and bug fixes on April 9.
- Monk — Brewmaster nerfs: Vital Flame self-healing reduced from 50% to 40%. Shado-Pan Predictive Training damage reduction dropped from 10% to 8%. Devs note Brewmaster self-healing was too strong relative to other tanks.
- Monk — Windwalker buff: Fists of Fury cleave damage increased from 54% to 60%.
- Rogue — Assassination buffs: Garrote and Rupture damage up 5%. Fan of Knives and Crimson Tempest up 10%. Caustic Spatter up from 18% to 20%.
- Rogue — Outlaw adjustment: Overall damage up 4%, but Blade Flurry cleave reduced from 30% to 28%.
- Hunter — BM fix: Wild Instincts was doing more single-target damage than intended; now corrected.
- Priest fixes: Discipline Oracle Blaze of Light slow now applies correctly. Holy Oracle Preemptive Care now properly extends Lasting Words Renews by 40% (was incorrectly 25%).
- Raids: Chimaerus and Crown of the Cosmos trophy decor drops fixed. Belo'ren rewards in March on Quel'Danas buffed.
- PvP: Mercenary Contract vendors added to Silvermoon. Tracker's Net re-root on Vanish fixed. Fire Blast now damages stealthed players.
- Professions: Green Thumb now correctly doubles Midnight herbalism nodes.
On the table
- Brewmaster was clearly overperforming — do you think a 10% Vital Flame nerf and 2% Predictive Training cut is enough to bring them in line, or will they still be the top tank pick?
- Assassination Rogue got some love across the board — does this move them up your M+ or raid comp tier list, or do they still need more?

Devour Affix Now Includes Snare Effects
The Xal'atath's Bargain: Devour affix now applies a 10% slow, meaning any snare-removal ability can break the shield.
- Previously the Devouring Rift shield on all 5 players could only be removed by healing it off or dispelling. The added snare opens up class-specific removal options.
- Notable removals by class: Druid shapeshifting, DH Vengeful Retreat, Hunter Disengage (with Posthaste), Mage barriers (with Energized Barriers) or Ice Block, Monk Tiger's Lust, Paladin Blessing of Freedom, Priest Fade (with Phantasm), Rogue Vanish, Shaman Spirit Walk, Warlock Demonic Circle with Soulburn, Warrior Berserker Rage (with Fearless).
- Removing the shield grants the party a stacking buff providing bonus HP and Critical Strike.
On the table
- This is a pretty significant quality-of-life change for Devour weeks — does knowing your class has a one-button fix change how you feel about the affix, or is Devour still the worst Bargain?
- Do you think this makes certain classes even more desirable in M+ comps now, or does it level the playing field since almost everyone has an option?

Hero Track Gear from Delves at Journey Rank 9
Reaching Rank 9 in the Delver's Journey unlocks Hero (1/6) ilvl 259 gear from Tier 11 Bountiful Coffers and a new Delve vendor.
- Tier 11 Bountiful Coffers now have a chance to drop Hero gear. If no Hero gear drops, you receive Untainted Mana-Crystals instead. Tiers 8–10 only drop crystals at lower quantities.
- Vendor Zah'ran appears at the end of every Tier 11 Delve selling Hero gear. His inventory rotates each Delve completion, so run multiple to cycle his stock. Hero gear costs 1/20th the Untainted Mana-Crystal equivalent of Champion gear in Undercoins (e.g., 200 crystals vs. 4000 Undercoins for a trinket).
- Currency caps: 250 Untainted Mana-Crystals per week, 1000 total. No catch-up mechanism. Currency is character-specific, not Warband.
- Delver's Journey progress is Warband-bound, making this an excellent alt-gearing path. Transmog collectors can catalyze Hero gear to (6/6) for Mythic tier set appearances.
On the table
- Hero-track from Delves is a big deal for alt players — does this change your priority on which characters you push Journey progress on first?
- The Mana-Crystal cap is pretty tight at 250/week with no catch-up — does that feel fair for the reward level, or should Blizzard have been more generous?

L'ura Memory Game Addon via Northern Sky Raid Tools
The Northern Sky Raid Tools addon by Reloe now includes a L'ura Rune display module, bringing Race to World First–level tech to everyday raid groups.
- During the Race to World First, top guilds built custom addons to handle L'ura's rune memory mechanic. Previously, guilds relied on typing, World Markers, or verbal callouts. This module makes that solution publicly available.
- Setup: Download icon files from the addon's GitHub, place them in your Retail WoW installation at \Interface\ICONS (replace existing files if needed, restart game). One player on Heroic clicks "Create Rune-Macros" and pastes number strings in raid chat to display the correct symbols.
- Works for the entire raid as long as everyone has NSRT installed and the module configured. Works on all difficulties and in pugs.
On the table
- L'ura's memory mechanic was one of the more unique puzzles this tier — does having an addon solve it take away from the experience, or is it a welcome relief for prog guilds?
- How much of your raid's success on a boss should come from addon tech vs. raw player communication and skill?

Make Easy Gold from Mythic BoEs in March on Quel'Danas
Voidbreaker Throggar, a lieutenant just before Belo'ren in March on Quel'Danas, can be farmed for Myth-track BoE drops on Mythic without killing any bosses.
- Reaching Throggar requires splitting the raid to defeat Void and Light versions of Belo'ren on the entry bridges, then dropping down and clearing trash. Coordinated groups reach him in 5–10 minutes.
- Loot: Myth-track BoE armor across all armor types — cloth, leather, mail, and plate pieces including head, chest, shoulders, legs, waist, and feet slots.
- Mythic BoEs are Bind-on-Equip and currently selling for roughly 2–4 million gold on the AH depending on stat rolls. Likely farmable once per character per week, though not officially confirmed.
On the table
- 2–4 million gold for 10 minutes of work is insane value — are you planning to run alts through this, or do you think Blizzard will hotfix the no-boss-kill access?
- Does the existence of Myth-track BoEs on the AH cheapen the gear progression, or is it a healthy gold sink for the economy?

Darkwell-Style Weapons Datamined on Patch 12.0.5 PTR
A wave of new weapon models was datamined on the 12.0.5 PTR, including void-themed redesigns inspired by Sunwell Plateau weapons from Burning Crusade.
- Sunwalker Weapons — Tauren Paladin-inspired designs including 1H axes, 1H swords, and 2H swords.
- Gilneas Loyalist Weapons — Fist weapons, bows, and 1H maces planned for a future Trading Post month.
- Voidwell Weapons — Sunwell Plateau raid weapons recolored with a Void aesthetic.
- Bonus: A new model matching the Valarjar Champion's Greatsword was datamined — the infamously oversized 2H sword from Legion.
On the table
- The Voidwell weapons are a BC nostalgia hit — are you excited to see Sunwell models return with a Void twist, or does it feel like recycled content?
- The Valarjar Champion's Greatsword was already comically long — do you think they're bringing it back as a meme or actually fixing the scaling?

Over 300 New Decor Items Added in Patch 12.0.5
The 12.0.5 PTR added over 300 new housing decor items, including Sin'dorei appliances, outdoor decorations, and more.
- Notable pieces include the Sin'dorei Garden Swing, Hay-Filled Sturdy Feeding Trough, and Razorwind Shores Canoe.
- Some items were previously datamined but are now being officially added to the game. All new pieces are viewable on Wowhead's Housing Decor Gallery.
On the table
- Housing is still brand new and already getting 300+ new pieces — is Blizzard delivering on the post-launch support they promised, or is this expected baseline?
- Are you putting time into your house yet, or is it still on the back burner while you focus on raids and M+?

New Endeavor Cycle Available Now
A new 5-week Endeavor cycle started with this week's reset. Neighborhood Managers can select from six Endeavors; public neighborhoods have theirs auto-assigned.
- Available Endeavors: Artistic Aid (Blood Elf decor), Consortium Consternation (Ethereal), Friend of the Grummles (Grummle), Moderate Mechanization (Mechagnome), Reaching Beyond the Possible (Draconic), Smell Sensation (Niffen). No new Endeavors were added this cycle.
- Completing tasks earns Neighborhood Favor, House XP (up to 2,500 per cycle), and Community Coupons to spend at Endeavor vendors for themed decor. You can buy from any neighborhood's vendor even if you're not a member.
- House XP is not Warband-wide — Horde and Alliance houses earn separately based on which Endeavor is active.
On the table
- No new Endeavors this cycle — is that disappointing, or are you still working through the ones that already exist?
- Being able to shop other neighborhoods' vendors is a nice touch — have you been hunting decor from Endeavors your guild didn't pick?

Holly Longdale Asks Community About Controller Support
During a recent fireside chat, WoW Executive Producer Holly Longdale directly asked attendees how much they would engage with WoW on a controller.
- The response was described as overwhelmingly positive, though with plenty of hesitant "maybe" answers and some outright declines. Longdale acknowledged full native controller support would be a "big job."
- With Blizzard under Microsoft, bringing WoW to Xbox would align with broader corporate goals. The recent Midnight UI and addon changes combined with this direct community poll suggest the team is considering this more seriously than ever.
- The accessibility angle is significant — many players already use controllers via community workarounds, and built-in support would lower the barrier for those who need it.
On the table
- Would you ever play WoW on a controller, even for casual content like transmog runs or fishing — or is keyboard and mouse too deeply wired into your muscle memory?
- If controller support leads to a console port, does that excite you or worry you about the game being designed around simpler inputs?

China's Titan Reforged Realms Add QoL Upgrades Western Players Won't See
China's exclusive Titan Reforged "Chronos" server launched with sweeping economy and progression changes that streamline the Classic experience.
- New currencies: Titan Shards (from quests and Dungeon Finder) replace gathering needs for profession leveling. Titan Embers replace all legacy emblem currencies (Valor, Heroism, Conquest, Triumph, Frost) into one flexible token for PvP and PvE gear.
- Reputation simplified: Head and shoulder enchant reputation requirements removed entirely. Reputation tokens purchasable from Titan Ember vendors to fast-track faction standing.
- Professions overhauled: Engineering items like bombs and Nitro Boosts no longer require specific Engineering skill. Gathering professions can yield Titan Shards directly. Some recipe-locked raid drops now drop as completed items.
- Dynamic world boss loot: Drop quantity scales based on how many eligible level 80 players haven't killed the boss that week. Too few eligible players means no loot and no lockout.
On the table
- Some of these QoL changes — like removing enchant rep requirements and consolidating currencies — would be huge in retail too. Which one do you most wish Blizzard would bring to the Western client?
- Dynamic world boss loot that scales with eligible players is a genuinely clever system — should retail adopt something similar for world content?
